Praise God All Day Long
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:1-3
It’s easy to get busy or preoccupied and try to numb ourselves with entertainment. But God has called us to push past distractions and focus on Him. When we come before God in praise and worship, we’re reinforcing who He is, what He is capable of doing, and His faithfulness throughout the ages.
If you were a worshiper of God but life has contained your praise and you’ve lost your fire, don’t lament! You have a choice: You can sit and sulk and start to feel bad that you’ve let this slip, or you can start fresh right now. Every day is a new day (Lamentations 3:22-23), and God makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). You are a chosen generation called to proclaim the excellencies of God (1 Peter 2:9).
It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night, with the ten-stringed lute and with the harp, with resounding music upon the lyre. For You, O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. Psalm 92:1-4
When we thank God for who He is and what He has done, it helps us to be less introspective and more aware of our Deliverer. Fear and anxiety leave as our eyes get on Jesus. Our battles are won (2 Chronicles 20). Chains fall off and prisoners get set free (Acts 16:25). People are saved (Acts 16:30-34).
Saturate your day with praise. Praise Him with music (2 Kings 3:15). Praise God in your car; praise Him in your house. Shout out your praise (Psalm 95:1-2). “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6).
My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day long. Psalm 71:8
