Repaired, Prepared, and Ready!

Monday, April 9th, 2012

What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! 1 Peter 1:3 MSG

REPAIRED – mended, fixed, and restored.
Jesus left the splendor of heaven on a mission to save what was lost—to repair what the first Adam forfeited (Luke 19:10). The Bible says Jesus went around doing good and healing everyone who was sick and oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). When we turn to God, our lives get repaired and restored—we’re set free!

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one calling in the desert, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.” Matthew 3:1-3 NIVUK

PREPARED – equipped in advance for a particular purpose.
Preparation precedes opportunity. Before Jesus, there was a forerunner named John the Baptist who came with great conviction and urged people to get their hearts ready for the Messiah. God convicts us so that we can remove obstacles in our lives and prepare for action.

“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

MADE READY – immediately available; poised for action.
If you’re feeling dull or apathetic and wondering what your purpose is, call out to God. He can take a cold heart and make it white hot and give you fresh hunger for truth. None of us is cut out to be “religious.” We are called to a new life in Christ. So focus on Jesus—He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). This is the reason for our existence.

Happy Easter!

The Results

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Jesus Came. Jesus Died. Jesus Rose.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT

Free from sin. God has good things planned for your life! Jesus came on the scene at a clarifying moment in history to find and save those who were lost (Luke 19:10). When Jesus was nailed to the Cross for our sins, it got radical: He paid the price for humanity, and the result is freedom from the vicious cycle of sin and death (Romans 8:2 Phillips).

Free from the old way of living. If the challenges of life have left you feeling broken and numb, call out to Jesus. Don’t buy into the monotony of our mixed-up culture—while it is very good at assessing problems, it can’t deliver the solution. But Jesus brought the answer and addressed the problem by giving His life.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Free to serve people. You are not insignificant; God wants to use you to do some extraordinary things. He can even take the hurts of your past and turn them into credibility when you reach out to someone else going through similar pain. Lift up your eyes and see the amazing life God has for you.

Knowing Jesus is what it’s all about,

The Law of Life

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Romans 8:1-2

When Jesus was nailed to the Cross, He paid the price for humanity, and you were freed from sin! The old law of sin and death has been displaced by the higher and better law of life. Walk in this new life. “Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life” (Romans 6:4b AMP).

Physicists make it their life to study the laws governing the natural world. They now know that the law of thrust and lift will supersede the law of gravity. As followers of Jesus, we invest our lives to understand those spiritual laws that have overridden the law of sin and death. We look in the mirror of the Word to learn what the new things are of this life in Christ Jesus: who Jesus is, what we have as a result of Him, and what we can do in Him. Then, we can carry these revelations to our daily living.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

God has given you an abundant new life, but the enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy your vision so you don’t walk in it (John 10:10). The gravitational pull of lesser things can keep you in a place where you aren’t soaring to your full potential. Delving into God’s Word, praying in tongues, and maintaining a grateful heart are some key things that will help you understand the law of life and bring victory to your thoughts, words, and actions. Don’t stay victimized by gravity; break out, because the higher law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free!

It’s good to know Jesus.
