He Recovered All

Monday, September 15th, 2014

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10

Restored Relationship. What Adam forfeited in the Garden of Eden, Jesus recovered to such an extent that we can hardly fathom it. We have restored fellowship with the Creator of the universe. But God didn’t stop there; He went on to offer us “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this band? Shall I overtake them?” And He said to him, “Pursue, for you will surely overtake them, and you will surely rescue all.” So David recovered all . . . 1 Samuel 30:8, 18a

Restored Life. When King David experienced crisis, he first sought God’s direction and “strengthened himself in the Lord” before taking action (1 Samuel 30:6b). When Job experienced great loss, he too drew near to God. The outcome was that David recovered all that was taken and God increased all Job had lost two times over.

Restored Years. God told the people of Israel, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25a NKJV). Don’t let the past hold you back. God cares about you and knows how to restore—even if it’s the twelfth year of your battle. He can heal your body, rescue you from depression, reestablish your finances, restore your marriage, reach your rebellious child. So get tenacious. Draw near to Jesus, believe God’s Word, and expect great things for the future!

Pray this Prayer
I know, God, that You can do all things and no purpose of Yours can be thwarted (Job 42:1-2). Every good thing comes from You, God, and I refuse to murmur or sit in self-pity. Instead, I increase my expectation, knowing that You are working all things out for the good. I will fulfill Your plan for my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

re•cov•er verb

God bless you,
